Darrell Peck

Team Trakker

Darrell Peck has a carp angling CV that defies the fact that he’s only 32 years of age! He has already landed well in excess of 40 different UK forties, two UK fifties and a UK sixty!

Darrell told us more about why carp angling is such a massive part of his life. “I’ve been totally submerged in angling my whole life and can’t ever see that ever changing as I simply love being out on the bank.” When it comes to describing himself as an angler, he is as ever very modest. “It’s hard for me to say what type of angler I am, but an adaptable angler would be my goal. Others refer to my angling as being simple, which although is true, I often wonder if they interpret things as I do. If I have a real strength, then it’s my awareness of the carp, their whereabouts and why they do what they do.” If you’ve had the chance to read Darrell’s Book ‘My Misspent Youth’  a venue he describes in some detail within the book, is the North Met Pit, a venue that he rates as his favourite of all time. “What I liked most about fishing on the North Met was the rawness – it’s not to everyone’s taste, but it was just my bag. This venue is big, quiet with good head of fish that just loved bait.”  Work-wise Darrell has been involved within the angling trade for a few years, on and off. Firstly he worked in his local tackle shop when he left school, coming back for a second spell again in 2008 before he started work with Korda, who he works as a consultant and also heading up their Kordatorial tuition business. Darrell told us: “I love my job, especially the tutoring and I also write the odd piece for various angling titles such as Carpworld, ACF and Carp Talk. I’ve grown up lakeside and have always enjoyed chewing the fat with people over a hot cuppa first thing in the morning. To now have reached a stage where I can do that for work, I know that I’m extremely lucky.” One thing is for sure, you couldn’t meet a nicer bloke than Darrell Peck – his attitude to angling and life is simply superb and we’re proud to have him on board with the Trakker team.
