Jim Wilson

Team Trakker

Jim Wilson started fishing when he was around or 8 or 9 years old, fishing for anything that came along on little rivers and farmers ponds. That led him to his first meeting with a carp, caught on light float fishing tackle. That started him on a journey which he still thoroughly enjoys today. With a busy and stressful work life Jim enjoys nothing more than plotting up on the bank somewhere to get away from it all. Jim explained more: I really enjoy a challenge in my fishing, be it a big low stocked pit or a pressured small water, anything that offers a challenge, and contains a fish with a bit of history or are renowned for being difficult to trip up. I do like to fish for a biggie, but size isn’t everything and provided a fish has the right character and history, and most importantly the venue is somewhere where he can relax, he’s always happy to chase its residents. Jim being based in North Lincolnshire has spent the majority of his carp fishing life fishing venues throughout Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire, including famous venues such as Culverthorpe, Wold View, Thompsons (aka the Fabled Pool), Mesters, Baston Fen and Bundy’s along the way, where he has caught some stunning character fish. Outside of his fishing Jim spends his time walking and camping with his girlfriend and spending time with his family. Rugby is also something he enjoys watching, although he doesn’t play anymore. Jim’s interest in photography has also blossomed as a new hobby, as it goes hand in hand with him being a carp angler, spending quality time out there in the wild open countryside.
