Kev Hewitt

Team Trakker

Most people would know Kev as a carp angler, however he prefers to class himself as an all-rounder. Whether it is stick float fishing for roach on the rivers, spinning for pike and perch or sea fishing for bass, Kev simply loves being by the waters edge. Although thoroughly enjoying all aspects of angling, Kev has been well into his carp fishing for over 15 years, and mainly tends to flit between different day ticket waters for the most part, simply enjoying the thrill and excitement of getting bites, especially when there is a chance of a bigger fish.

Kev’s enthusiasm for angling is as much alive today as it was when he first started. Even with a busy job and family life he aims to get out twice a month for a 48-hour session, and quite often squeezes the odd day session inbetween. During the summer months Kev enjoys floater fishing and has used his finely-tuned approach to catch some amazing carp off the top, however for the most part he very much enjoys fishing on the bottom over bait. Accuracy and spotting play a massive part in Kev’s angling, as he tends to fish big beds of particles mixed with boilies, fishing three rods over the top on an area smaller that a groundsheet, which has accounted for some seriously enviable hits of large carp for the Swindon-based angler.

“So long as I am by the water, I will always have a smile of my face and cannot see my passion for angling ever burning out.”
