Reed & Hinson Through to BCAC Semis

Posted by: Trakker on June 22nd, 2015

This weekend saw Team Trakker’s Adam Reed and partner Mick Hinson (a former World Carp Classic winner his self in 2004) compete in their qualifying match for the semi-finals of the British Carp Angling Championships, on the prolific Walthamstow No.1.

Drafted-in after the original pairing of Team Trakker’s Jake Taylor and father Greg pulled-out due to Jake having undergone recent knee surgery, the pair managed to lead the field from the Friday, all the way through to the final whistle on Sunday, despite only having one practice session in the run-up to the match!

Adam told us: “Being asked to step-in at such short notice, and not really knowing all that much about the venue, caused a bit of a blind panic, and I never thought we’d be ready in time! We only managed to squeeze in one practice session in the run-up to the qualifier, although this did go pretty well, and luckily, we came out 4th in the draw and were able to select the same swim we’d practiced in for the match itself”.

Adam and Mick finished the match with a total of 32 fish for 453lb 11oz, giving them a winning margin of just under 30lb. Their semi-final is at midlands carp-match Mecca, Barston, on July 3rd, which will also see the other Trakker teams of John Walker and Matthew Quibell, and Sam Cheetham and Richard Eastwood.

Below are a selection of catch shot’s from Adam and Mick’s Walthamstow victory, which include some absolute belters, typical of the stamp of fish residing in the famous day ticket complex.
