Cleaning and Reproofing

About Us

What is the best way to clean and maintain the performance of my Aquatexx bivvy?

To optimise the long term effectiveness of our bivvies we recommend that our Revive Shelter Complete Care Kit is used at regular intervals to both clean and re-proof the outer fabric of the bivvy. This will keep your bivvy looking cleaner and so newer for longer and will also optimise the water repellency effect so providing the longest term protection from the rain.

Please note: all of the other benefits of our bivvy fabrics are not negatively impacted by using the Revive cleaning and re-proofing system.

How often should I re-proof my bivvy?

As a preventative measure it is recommended that you thoroughly clean and then re-proof your bivvy at least twice per year.

As our customers may use their bivvies from once or twice annually to weekly depending on how often they have the opportunity to fish, we suggest that whenever you start to see a noticeable drop in the level of ‘beading-up’ of rain on your bivvy then it is a good idea to give it a clean and re-proof using the Revive Shelter Re-proofer Kit.
