Dean started fishing at a small lake at the end of his parent’s road back in 1989. After blanking on my first three trips, Dean was finally hooked when his float sailed away on the fourth trip and he landed an 8oz skimmer bream. An angler was born…
Following on from that pivotal moment, Dean match fished competitively on the local circuit before turning his attentions to carp for a number of years until 2004, when he started to take an interest in all species larger than average. Now Dean lets the weather dictate what he targets, from Grayling on fast-flowing chalk streams to Giant Siamese Carp and Arapaima out in Thailand.
Dean’s incredible tally of personal bests includes 280lb Arapaima, 190lb Mekong Catfish, 108lb Siamese Catfish, 186lb Wels Catfish, 15lb 8oz Barbel, 14lb 8oz Bream, 10lb 12oz Tench, 8lb 1oz Chub and a 3lb 2oz Roach!
Basically, if it swims, it’s not safe from Dean!
