Matthew Quibell

Team Trakker

Matthew Quibell has a number of years experience in the angling industry, originally working in a tackle shop while he was studying and then going on to work as a journalist on Crafty Carper, Carpworld and Carp-Trade magazines for Angling Publications Ltd. He now works full-time at Cipher HQ in Sheffield overseeing product development for all brands in the group, including Trakker Products, Cygnet Tackle and Aqua Products.

Matt graduated from Hull University having studied BA Geography and has been fishing since the age of five. He was heavily involved in the match scene through his teens, culminating in him winning gold in the National Federation of Anglers 2001 UK Championships, before turning his attentions to the sole pursuit of carp.

Matt tries to make the most of his limited angling time with the majority of his fishing consisting of quick-overnight sessions due a demanding job role and other commitments. He still enjoys carp match fishing for Team Trakker and has qualified for the final of the British Carp Angling Championships three times, finishing in third place with partner John Walker in 2015. He also enjoys venturing over to Europe at least once a year and has fished for some of the largest carp in Europe on venues such as Gigantica and Rainbow Lake.

Outside fishing, Matt enjoys training for triathlons, which includes swimming, biking and running.
